Tour Itinerary
Arrival at Islamabad, transfer to hotel for rest. If arrival is during the day, you will be taken for a short sightseeing trip around Islamabad. The new Capital City of Pakistan is lush green at the footsteps of Potohar hills. We will visit Faisal Mosque, Pakistan monument and Lok versa, institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage.

Take an early morning flight to Gilgit – the capital town of Gilgit Baltistan. There will be ample time to explore bazaars of Gilgit and a visit to a Rock Carving Buddha from 5th century AD.
We will then drive on the road to Chilas, if there are no flights available from Islamabad- Flights to Gilgit are operated subject to weather condition.

Drive to Hoppar village at Nagar valley, which is starting point of this trekking route and is a marvelous village known for fruit orchards and the production of potato seeds. This will take us 4-5 hours from Gilgit to hit the destination while making stops along the road at collision of the Indo-Pak and the Eurasian plate located at the Chalt on karkoram highway. The history of tectonic evolution has very close relationship with different period of organic movement caused by under thrusting of Indo-Pakistan (Indian) plate toward north below the Eurasian Plate. Also the traces of ancient Silk route, a pony track on which Caravans used to travel in the old days.
In the afternoon we will stroll through the terraced fields and enjoy the views while meeting with friendly and hardworking folks of this village.

Get ready to hit the trek. Firstly, we will cross Hoper Glacier to Shiskin. It is a hot walk so keep your water bottles full. After crossing the Glacier we continue track along the lateral moraine for about an hour and reach at Shiskin, then climb a stony and hot gully to reach another Glacier called Barpu glacier, within an hour we will cross the Barpu glacier and rest of the trek ahead is quite flat until we get closer to BirchoKor where we gain some elevation gradually to reach the Oasis, which will be our camping site for today. The trek takes approx. 5-6 hours from Hoppar to reach the campsite. Afternoon is free to rest and explore the camping site located next to another Glacier.

Here comes hardest part of the trek as we climb straight up from our camping site at 3300m to Rush Lake at 4700 m which take approx 6-7 hours. There is saying ‘the more you climb the better views you get’, every step toward Rush lake is rewarding as the mountains appear better and the views look greater. The moment you reach the Rush lake, you will find it simply a splendid sight to behold.
You don’t have to go anywhere to find the views, you are actually surrounding by views more than one can expect.

We leave the tents and bags behind without packing up as we are going to climb the Rash Peak 5,098m, and return to Campsite in the afternoon. It is an easy walk for superb views of Hispar Gorge and a 360 degree panorama from Nagar to Hunza includes entire high mountains of the region. Furthermore, distant eastward views of the K2 (8,611 m), Broad Peak (8,047 m), Gasherbrum IV (7925 m) and the view to the northeast in the Hispar Muztagh massif which includes peaks like Lupgar Sar (7,200 m), Mohmil Sar (7,343m) Trivor Sar (7,728 m) and Distaghil Sar (7,885m) which all add to magnificence of this breathtaking trek.

Today, the trek will be descending throughout and it is more than 1200 meters via a different route. The trek offers superb views of Miar glacier and Rakaposhi (7788m) range on this side of the valley.
We reach the campsite within 3-4 hours and pitch up the tent. Afternoon is free to rest or enjoy the campsite.

After breakfast at camp, we resume the trek to cross Miar glacier which is right ahead on our way. The glacier crossing is not as difficult as crossing Hoppar Glacier on first day, once again views are magnificent especially close up views of Miar Peak (6824m). In 3-4 hours we will reach the camp site with giant views of Golden Peak 7,027 m, you won’t stop admiring these sublime views consisting mountains and white glacier.

Today is final day of trekking and there is a gradual descend ahead for 4-5 to reach back down at Hoppar village, stretch your legs while lunch will be served.
We then Jump into the Jeep and drive to Karimabad, Hunza valley within an hour. The capital town of Hunza valley is fine place to end your trekking trip as there are some good hotels, restaurants with local cuisines and historical sites to visit.

You will have two full days to explore the famous Hunza valley, where you will be able to visit the ancient Baltit Fort, newly formed Attabad Lake, Hussaini Hanging bridge and Passu Glacier. You will have the choice of a spare full day to drive all the way to Pakistan – China border; it is a beautiful drive on a metal part of the highway through the mountains to highest international border.

Travel down the Karakoram highway and break the journey enroot at Besham or Naran, subject to condition of snow on Babusar top.

Complete the road journey down to Islamabad and towards Monal restaurant in Islamabad to wrap up the trip in a perfect ambience: good food, night view of the capital and live music.
