You have two days to explore in and around Lahore city – one of the oldest cities of Pakistan and cultural hub, referred as garden of the great Mughal Empire, produced some of the finest pieces of monuments living to this day.
You will be able to spend time in the hustling and bustling narrow alleyways of the old city include largest medieval mosque in the world, the awesome Badshahi mosque. You will have the option to visit the Shalimar Garden, King Jahangir’s Mausoleum, Lahore museum, Wazir Khan mosque and Lahore Fort.
We will also head out of Lahore in the afternoon to the Indian border at Wagah to witness the daily flag ceremony. Huge crowds gather to watch the Indian and Pakistani border guards lower their flags.
Leave Lahore early morning and drive to Peshawar via Motorway, one of the finest roads, offers a smooth drive that roughly takes 6 hours to reach the destination.
Peshawar is among one of the most ancient living cities on earth, was the gateway between the subcontinent and Central Asia, and has all kinds of professionals and manufacturers, from goldsmiths to silversmiths, traditional carpets, pottery, clothing and artwork on the wood and stones.
In Peshawar, you will be able to stroll around the old side of the city’s narrow streets where you can see the faces and the smells that you have reached the edge of India. Pashtuns, Hazara, Tajik, Chitrali and Uzbek faces all mingle and business is conducted over endless cups of Qawa (cardamon flavoured green tea).
You will have the chance to visit famous food street of Peshawar to taste the local recipes of the city.
We head out to Islamabad today while visiting another UNESCO world heritage sites en route. Takht e Bhai, an archaeological wonder, considered to be significant because of its unique design and well-structured Buddhist monasteries from the Ghandaran period when this region was a Greco-Buddhist kingdom.
After few hours visit, we then resume the drive to Islamabad roughly takes three hours from Peshawar. In the afternoon we visit the famous Faisal Mosque in the capital, the largest mosques in Pakistan and considered iconic symbol of Islamabad around the world.
In the evening, you will be taken to another famous food street for dinner, located in the Rawalpindi- one of the twin cities besides Islamabad.
A trip to the Greco-Buddhist sites at Taxila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This will include the Taxila museum, the Daramjika Stupa, Sirkap, Mohra Murado and Julian.
Afternoon, visit to Pakistan monument, constructed to symbolize unity and harmony among people living in various provinces of country. It’s a place worth going for panoramic views of the capital.
